Dark Mode
I've been working with web development since its inception, and I want to make a small contribution towards improving it. My personal and ethical choice is to switch to dark mode to conserve device energy.
"It gave a surprising battery life figure. Changing from light to dark mode reduces the phone's power consumption by 42% at 100% screen brightness. When the brightness level is 50%, switching from light mode to dark mode saves 9 % of the battery, and when the brightness level is 30%, the saving is only 3 %."
Compress
Another best practice is to reduce website file size by compressing code and optimizing image and video sizes. My homepage is 96% cleaner than all the pages tested on websitecarbon.com. The project pages have a lower percentage, with a range of 70/86 cleaner.
